About Prairie Biotic Research

  • Funding for basic, field biological research has largely disappeared, as have our prairies.
  • Basic biotic research, an important aspect of prairie conservation, is the sole focus of PBR.
  • Individuals are free to conduct research that is poorly supported by existing institutions.
  • Publication, presentation at professional meetings, and vouchering data with specimens donated to institutional collections are strongly encouraged.
